[This is day 2 of Goroh's debt to Hanekoma and three days until Christmas. Once again he's out and about dressed in his Santa costume seen here. He'll be hanging out in the market plaza today and will be in and out of the various stores, mostly to occasionally get out of the cold. If you want to make sure Hanekoma is getting his money's worth, be sure to pester 'Santa Claus' as much as possible.

He may or may not also have a present with him for a certain little girl. At one point his journal will be open long enough for a "HO HO HO!", but he'll be shutting the journal immediately afterward. You'll just have to investigate.]

...Have you thought about trying to set up a different sort of race?

Yeah, but what is there to race with? And don't say bobsledding.

Of course not. That's too seasonal. ...And I guess building something would be difficult.

Yeah, actually I was thinking of building a boat. If I can get the materials together, even strap an engine on it.

...That might actually work. There's a forge, so you could probably get an engine built. The issue is fuel and lubrication for it.

Exactly. I don't reckon we'll be finding any fossil fuels around here. Which leaves us with two power sources. Solar and wind.

Just wind, really. I don't think we have the materials we need for solar power.

Maybe, maybe not. We got the materials to make mirrors to focus the heat. We don't have your typical kind of liquid for more efficient stuff, but that's enough to get you steam power with good old H20. Hard to say if that'll be enough for racing, but it beats paddling.

No, not really. Just been spending time at the library. The idea might not even be practical to put on a boat. But the way I figure it, a good engine can be used for a lot of things. It'll be useful one way or another.
