[Meanwhile (or LATERWHILE because this is forward-dated to this evening), Goroh is at Good Spirits, sitting on a stool up at the bar. But rather than doing his usual thing of just hanging out there, he's got his journal out in front of him for a voice message.]

Goroh here. Listen up, I've promised a few people I'd have a drink with them. If you're one of those people, you should know where to find me.

[And that'll do for now. If he hasn't asked you for a drink, you can still bother him anyways.]

[It doesn't taste horrible, this is true. But it's significantly stronger than the sake Litchi's used to, so she winces slightly. But that's not about to stop her; she'll be finishing this glass slowly, but it'll be finished.]

You... really weren't kidding about how strong this is, were you?

Ha! Just be glads it ain't Grog. It's just as strong, but tastes like shit.

I have to admit, we haven't got anything quite like this back home. We mostly only had sake in Orient Town...

[Sip.] I suppose I have a lot to learn about here.

Small town girl, huh? I figured big-time doc like you would've been from a big city or something. [He finishes his glass.]

[She's nearing the end of her own glass. Be afraid, Goroh -- she may not seem drunk at all, but the gears are beginning to turn on one of her infamous "fun" ideas.]

It's actually a very big city. Orient Town is just one of the smaller sections of the city of Kagutsuchi. We're on one of the lower levels.

What about you, Mr. Goroh? What's your hometown like?

And you only have sake, huh? Not that there's anything wrong with sake. The Furikake make some of the best in the galaxy. [He refills his own glass. He is totally not worried at all.]

Anyways, my hometown? Not much to describe. I spent most of my life on the move until I hooked up with the Feds.

Well, in Orient Town. Ronin-gai, too, come to think of it. [Not to mention she's just a sake fiend in general. She polishes off her glass.]

A wanderer, huh~?

Fair enough. Gotta stick with what you like, right? [And he'll just go ahead and fill her glass up.]

Something like that. It's a big galaxy, just doesn't make much sense to stay put in one place.

[She starts on the new glass in stride.] I suppose you have a point there...

Besides, after the Feds got rid of me, a wanted man can hardly settle down and get a normal job. [He chuckles bitterly at that and takes another drink.]

[Litchi nearly chokes on her drink. What was it that Bang had told her? "Some people here may not be as friendly as they appear to be"? She's already well on her way to being completely smashed, and the warning bells are beginning to go off; but on the other hand, she doesn't feel like she's walked into a trap.]

I'm sorry... wanted?

[Her reaction makes him laugh a little.] Don't worry about it. I used to be a cop, some things happened and I was forced into a less than honest life. But aside from lifting merchandise here and there, I'm no killer. The galaxy isn't an easy place to make a living when you've fallen out of the Federation's good graces.

[Soft sigh. That's a good enough explanation for now.] I'm sorry, it's just... I seem to be running into far more people with bounties on their heads since I've arrived here.

If it helps, my current occupation if "F-Zero Pilot". You don't always win, but you do make a fair bit of cash on the merchandising. [Sip.] Who exactly has bounties on their heads here?

The most wanted man in Kagutsuchi is here, for one. I personally know several vigilantes after his bounty. [She swishes the contents of her glass idly. Originally meaning not to give Ragna's name just because it would mean avoiding any unnecessary trouble, she fairly quickly forgets where she was going with that thought anyway.]

Ha... even the NOL are here.

[He's going to remember that name just in case, though.] What's the NOL?

The Novus Orbis Librarium. Most people just call it the Library. They're... the police, I suppose you could call them.

[Siiip.] ...Very controlling police.

Sounds familiar enough to me. Are they worth keeping an eye out for?

[She laughs and waves a hand dismissively.] I'm not sure you'd need to. The only NOL officer I've met here so far is just a little girl.

[Obviously, she hasn't run into Jin.]

I should count myself lucky. Near as I can tell, no one from my neck of the universe is in this place. Least, nobody that I know anyways. [And he finishes off another round.] Best that way, I figure. This place ain't exactly an entertaining place. [And besides, he doesn't need his reputation following him here.]

I suppose~ But I have to say, it's nice to see familiar faces around. [Even though the only one she's even faintly acquainted with is Bang, but that's another story. The alcohol is definitely getting to her now, so she's slightly flushed -- but still not really showing any other signs of drunkenness. Aside from the occasional teasing tone, that is.]

Besides, I'm sure there's something entertaining.

[Goroh has already been at this for awhile before she even showed up. He's got a pretty high tolerance, but he's usually not this loose with his own personal life.]

Possibly. What do you have in mind?

Oh, I don't know~. I'm sure I can find some Mahjong tiles somewhere.

Can't say I've ever played. If it's not racing, the only kind of games I know are with a deck of cards or a pair of die.
